2021 Plaquemines Parish Fair & Orange Festival
Queen Annabelle Picou

Annabelle Picou is the daughter of Antigona Lirette and Jason Picou of Belle Chasse. She is 20-years old and a lifelong resident of Plaquemines Parish. Annabelle is currently attending the University of Louisiana at Lafayette majoring in early childhood education/special education with the ambition to be an educational diagnostician. She is a proud graduate of Belle Chasse High School where she was a cheerleader for 4 years, 3-time National Cheerleaders Association national champion, Universal Cheerleaders Association world champion, and a 2-time All-American Cheerleader. She is also a blackbelt in karate. Her love for the Orange Festival and industry blossomed at a young age when she went down to the fort to celebrate the festival each year. Her favorite part was seeing pictures of all the past queens with hopes to someday fulfill her dream of becoming queen, which she did. That passion grew with loving Plaquemines Parish when she was given the opportunity to be 2019-2020 Plaquemines Parish Seafood Queen in May of 2019. Annabelle participates in many volunteering opportunities by representing her sorority's local philanthropy, The Arthritis Foundation. She holds an officer position in her sorority, Alpha Omicron Phi. She is activities chair for the 2021 fall semester. Annabelle participates in church organizations like Delight mysteries and Wisdom Bible Study. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling to Croatia to visit her family and learning more about her Croatian heritage, reading books, and getting more involved with her University on campus. Annabelle is honored to represent Plaquemines Parish, the citrus industry, and the festival for their 75th year anniversary alongside her royalty.
